How soon can a Learner re-take a failed assessment? - Approved Centre (ACF)

If a Learner fails an assessment they are not permitted to re-take another assessment of that unit on the same day or the following day. There must be a full calendar day between attempts. For example, if a Learner fails an assessment on a Monday, they cannot re-take the assessment until Wednesday. If an assessment is failed on a Friday, the Learner must wait until Monday to re-take.

If a Learner fails an assessment four times it is possible for them to re-sit but the Centre Manager must email a request to qualifications@bcs.uk for guidance. You must demonstrate that you have provided additional support to the Learner to ensure that you have fully prepared them for a re-sit, addressing their skills gaps. We will then confirm if an additional assessment can be released.
